I'm Baatarsuren Chadraabal, also known as Baatar. I'm a Mongolian throat singer, traditional musician, and teacher from Chandmani, Khovd Province, in western Mongolia: a region renowned for its rich throat singing traditions.
Growing up surrounded by the musical heritage of western Mongolia, I developed a deep connection to traditional throat singing, its different styles, and the instruments and stories that are part of our culture. As a professional musician at Khovd Theatre, I have extensive experience performing Mongolian traditional music and exploring its diverse vocal and instrumental traditions.
Through my lessons, I share the techniques and different styles of Mongolian throat singing, helping students develop their voices while gaining an understanding of the musical traditions behind them. I enjoy teaching both beginners and more experienced singers, introducing them to the sounds, techniques, and cultural heritage passed down through generations.
My goal is to help students not only learn how to throat sing, but also connect with the living musical traditions of Chandmani and western Mongolia.
